A gazebo is an outdoor building that can be built to be round, square or octagonal and in almost any proportions. The purpose of this building is for use as a summertime place to entertain family and friends as well as a place to dine. The building is most commonly built with a roof and is screened in although, there are alternative options called gazebo covers. The gazebo is generally strategically built in an area that has a pleasant or when possible a spectacular view. Some gazebos are built large enough to accommodate a complete outdoor kitchen.
Gazebos are built from different types of materials. Metal gazebos are constructed of aluminum, wrought iron and steel. They are also constructed of wood and stone. No matter what your gazebo is constructed of there is a substantial amount of maintenance necessary because of the use of the gazebo and the elements A gazebo cover should be used at the end of each season of use to protect the gazebo from the inclement weather in many areas of the country. These structures look hardy but like any other small free standing structure it does take a pounding from use and weather.
